GOODBYE IQ, HELLO QI!

Your intelligence will not be measured by IQ, but by QI, Quantum Intelligence.

You certainly know what IQ is, whether it's Intelligence Quotient or Who Indicates, which is very common in Brazil. But what about IQ? Do you know what it is? It's Quantum Intelligence.

There you go, here comes another coaching term, you'll say. Maybe it is, but it's absolutely true. Using the adjective Quantum has become fashionable because it's modern, seems imposing, and is like Special, Exclusive, etc., but with a (literal) technological twist.

For those who don't know, quantum comes from the word quantum, which belongs to the most widely spoken dead language in the world: Latin. In the original, quantum means packet, and Physics has appropriated the term very well to refer to particles where uncertainty reigns and packets, especially of energy, are the only source of measurement. Therefore, because it's modern (it's just over 70 years old) and difficult to understand, it became trendy.

The question is whether the term is applied to define the multiple states of things or if it's just to appear different. In terms of intelligence, it's the former. Today, each person can perform a limited number of tasks simultaneously: driving and talking, speaking and walking, explaining and using body language, etc. The limit is individual and depends on the complexity of the task, how much they use their brain. In other words, in practice, we are multitasking and binary at the same time. Every chip today has been binary and multitasking since 64 bits.

This, in itself, is not a problem: we can do several things simultaneously with quality. But that's where it ends. With the advent of AI, Assistants, Projects, and tools, this has completely changed. The same person can use their intelligence to do many things at once. Many indeed. Then you might ask: but what about automation? They multiply your physical power like a car helps you move faster and better, but they don't make decisions on their own. In other words, you multiply your arms and legs, but not your brain.

Generative AI allows for exactly that: multiplying your brain, your cognitive capacity, and your intellectual achievement, in an organized and productive way. In practical (and technical) terms, we now live in a world of superpositions: you and your countless assistants using intelligence to define what to do, how to react, what should be initiated or not. This is a quantum state. Let's recall the maze analogy: normal people and computers need to try each path until they find the exit, and this attempt is made one at a time, hence the delay. A quantum computer simulates all the paths at once and, therefore, finds the solution much more quickly and efficiently.

This is exactly you with artificial intelligence: a human and a machine being more productive than a human or a machine alone. This is the beginning of a revolution that has no defined horizons because, with each advancement, the possibilities multiply.

There's another similarity to Quantum Physics in this concept of IQ: intelligence no longer needs to be comprehensive or multiple. Even a person with very specific limitations or knowledge will be able to use artificial intelligence to expand their capabilities and also to focus on certain areas. Super-specialization gains, with AI, a fundamental ally for its evolution.

So, IQ no longer defines who you are or your limitations. IQ does. And let's celebrate, after all, the brain is what most differentiates humans from other living beings. With synthetic help, we no longer have limitations on knowledge. Really?
