WILL THIS BE OUR REDEMPTION?

How AI is making us gain some kind of super powers.

Everyone dreams of having superpowers as a child. Whether it's flying, X-ray vision, or super strength, there's no one who hasn't dreamed of it at some point. One superpower I've never given up on is the ability to teleport. After you start taking long plane trips and face the adventure of transporting clothes, luggage, and objects, you wish more than ever that this would one day become a reality. And I, in particular, have a reason to believe...

As a technology fanatic, I was amazed when, in 1999, Nicholas Negroponte, the brilliant mind behind MIT, said there was a project called "from atom to bit": developing a means capable of transforming all the information that exists in atoms into bits and then reverting it back to atoms. If that seems absurd, it's the principle behind 3D printers, for example. When we scan an object and print it, we basically convert the information of matter (atoms), convert it into bits, and then back into atoms again. Before you say this is very different, know that the goal of this project is precisely to achieve teleportation, if possible. The problem is that there was no deadline for it, nor any certainty of obtaining the result.

Well, going back to the childhood dream, after superpowers every child starts dreaming of other things. My dream was to be a musician. At 5, I started studying piano with my aunt, who was a teacher, but it didn't last long. At 15, with the goal of forming a band, I went back to studying piano, now at the conservatory of my great-uncle, a famous musician and teacher. I spent 8 years studying classical piano until I became convinced that I would never be a great pianist. I didn't have the necessary talent. It didn't take long to realize that music, something I deeply love, wouldn't be my livelihood. Or would it?

Now, with the advancement of Artificial Intelligence, as I said before, the idea of superpowers is starting to seem more realistic. Not just any superpower, of course, but perhaps AI will be able to find the solution for teleportation. What we are witnessing is a revolution that cannot be measured because with each evolutionary step the horizon seems closer: possibilities multiply and the universe expands.

Is there an AI bubble? Yes, and I want to make that very clear: not all that glitters is gold. The race to be the dominant force in this new world has led companies to lie. Apple lied, saying it had a revolutionary solution, and ended up partnering with Google. Some companies I've already mentioned promised and didn't deliver. The most recent case is ChatGPT: there's a growing trend saying they're better at marketing than programming. So, in collusion with Nvidia, which is also very good at marketing, they would be inflating their size and achievements by mutual agreement. This won't be the first or last scandal of its kind.

But going back to the initial point, what I meant by redemption. Immersed in AI, I discovered a platform that seems supernatural: Suno.ai. It's not the first, nor the only one, but it has the ability to transform any idea you have into music. And not just any music: quality music, well-played, produced, and recorded. What previously required a lot of talent and studio time now only needs some talent and some knowledge. Of course, to produce good music you need to at least know what it is. And of course, lyrics generated entirely by AI tend to lack soul. But what if you lend a little of your own soul to the process?

That's what I did and decided, as an AI experiment, as an adolescent dream, and as a marketing professional, to create the complete script: I created the lyrics (some alone, others with the help of AI), created the arrangements, generated the music on the platform, created the name, identity, logo, and musicians for the band (with the help of AI), and I got involved in producing videos (with AI), posts, Instagram profile, TikTok, etc. But I went even further: I found a distributor and managed to get my band's music onto streaming platforms like Spotify, Apple, Deezer, TikTok, etc. Only Meta, believe it or not, didn't accept it because they didn't like the quality of the material (this story always makes me laugh).

You can listen to the result here, but soon I'll describe the complete process and some results. After all this, I'm certain of two things: I fulfilled my dream and had a lot of fun. I probably won't make a penny from it, but this new career of mine, due to the investment which is basically knowledge and time, is guaranteed for the next few years. Important: the most played Country song on the American charts is a song made and performed by AI. This is serious business.

Therefore, above all, I achieved my goal of experiencing the use of AI in an immersive and fun way, which has everything to be a very interesting niche for brands in the coming years. Nothing groundbreaking or disruptive: just more of what already exists, only turbocharged and more accessible to garage musicians.
